Yahoo! is fighting the war against Spywar with more than words (hint hint Google). They have just released a new beta of their Yahoo! toolbar that includes an AntiSpy option powered by PestPatrol.
We just tested the beta and the software works extremely well. Our only complain is that it does not work with cookies at all, but I am sure that this will be covered in their next version.
Anyone who think she/he has got the guts to enter this competition can win a Gmail account...
Be prepared for some really tough questions. After all there is no such thing as a free lunch (or a free 1Gb...)
Google has just announced a set of software principles as a proposal to help fight spyware.
Do you think that it is weird for a search engine company to have launched such a set of principles? It is, but Google is about to enter the software business as it is about to launch a Desktop utility that will work with the Google engine and will allow you to search the hard disk of your PC.
This is a kind of reply to Microsoft trying to feel the search engine waters with their new MSN engine and it definitely means that there is an open conflict between the two companies.
Still I am definitely going to be using the Google tool for searching my files as the Microsoft search is absolutely terrible...

Google has launched a new service called Jumpstart which will create the full adwords campaign for you.
The service is for anyone that wishes to create an Adwords campaign without even searching for the text and keywords since the 'Google experts' will:
- Create the adverts for you
- Find the right keywords for you
- Set cost-per-click amounts
The cost of the service comes up to $299. To be frank this is definitely an overpriced service. $299 for simply setting up a PPC campaign is definitely a lot of money and it must also be said that the however important the beginning of a PPC planning and campaign is running and optimizing the campaign is essential for creating maximum ROI.
If you want to plan your own campaign and optimize it for maximum ROI then you may be interested in our Pay-per-Click complete guide.

Its about time:Google has started their official Google Blo. The URL for it is:
http://www.google.com/googleblog/
And the feed is, naturally, an atom feed.
At least now we will not have to speculate when it comes to announcements like Gmail (that caused so much havoc over the internet...)
Business blogging is here to stay. We are not alone...
The new changes in Google over the past few months have demonstrated the existence of a very strange phenomenon in the behavior of the inclusion of new websites:
New websites that are added in Google seem to appear after a few weeks and they tend to rank extremely well, sometimes appearing even in the first few pages of the SERPs. However, this lasts only for about one week and the results dissapear in the 'Google Sandbox' along with other new websites. This means that you will be able to find them ranking more than 1000 in the SERPS.
This appears to be an anti-SPAM measure that has been introduced but it naturally affects all legitimate websites as well.
The website returns to the proper location in SERPS (not as high as it first appears) after a few months (3-4 months is the current estimate).
If you are trying to launch a new website you better take this into account in your planning. If your keywords are competitive then chances are that your SEO attempts will not be producing results for the first 3-4 months of the submissions.
On the other hand, Yahoo! is very fast for indexing new websites, but as you may know the inclusion in Yahoo! is paid at the moment.
Well, I had to use a wiki in order to collaborate with a colleague across the Atlantic and a customer across the Pacific and the experience was just amazing. It is just something that I cant believe I was not using before (and thanks to my client for suggesting this).
For those that have never head of Wikis they are short for WikiWikiWeb. 'Invented' by Ward Cunnigham (Wiki means quick in Hawaian) they are, a rather bizzare in the beggining, concept of a community being able to edit pages at will.
How did we use it? It was a matter of creating a - password protected - extranet that allowed us to use Wiki both as a room for ideas and explanations but also as a way to assign tasks and report progress as things evolved. Email would never have been able to achieve the results we got.
This is the beginning of a wonderful friendhip
